Meet Domingo, a living master that paints joy. His mission is to change the world through art, beauty and love.
Domingo means Sunday, the day set aside for rest and contemplation.
Domingo, the artist, creates God-inspired paintings that celebrate strength, courage and love. He has chosen to only paint women, horses and futuristic abstracts as he believes they best convey these gifts that flow from the Creator.
“God is my ultimate inspiration when I co-create and paint the beauty of my visions. It is, I believe, one of our Lord’s great gifts to mankind for all time,” says Domingo.
In the tradition of some of America’s greatest and best-loved painters, Domingo is a native of New England’s famous Nantucket Island. In fact, his earliest recollections of the picturesque environment in which he grew up, coupled with the affection of family, have been major influences in establishing his painting style. Domingo started painting at the age of five. He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design where he learned to value his own style.
Domingo captures color in its most abstract and bold form. His art goes beyond an artistic conception, one inspired by God. To view Domingo’s art is to peer into the depths of the soul of the artist himself. His unique, primarily abstract, style has a flowing mystical timelessness that stirs the soul and brings forth a spirit of freedom and inner peace.
The women he paints are beautiful and strong. He catches them in moments of contemplation and reflection. They are full of mystery and leave you yearning to know the rest of the story.
Domingo has been exhibited in shows with other contemporary artists such as Theo Tobiasse and Leroy Neiman. His art has been featured in art magazines through the country and he has appeared as a guest artist on Michigan’s Spotlight television series as well as appearances on Nashville TV. In his travels around the world, he has become a people’s artist, loving to meet and talk with all individuals. Currently Domingo resides in the Southwest.
